What is WhatsApp Business API
The WhatsApp Business API powers communication with customers all over the world. It is a programming interface that helps businesses connect with their customers in a more simple, smarter and personalised way. WhatsApp is a Facebook company that requires a Facebook account and Facebook Business Manager to set up.
It is important to have a WhatsApp Business account before sending out WhatsApp messaging campaigns, as a business. If you are already using WhatsApp to interact with your customers and are thinking of integrating it with existing systems your business is using, the first step would be to get WhatsApp's approval to access and use its business API.
In order to access the WhatsApp Business API, businesses are required to have an official WhatsApp Business account (WABA) with one of the Business Solution Providers (BSPs), selected by Meta (Facebook/WhatsApp), e.g. Terragon, which stands for the quality and conformity of the processing of WhatsApp messages as required by Meta.
If you do not have a WhatsApp Business account, follow the steps below to create one on TerragonPrime;
Creating a WhatsApp Business Account
Step 1:
To begin you need to have the following requirements: a Facebook Business Manager, a registered phone number which is currently not on WhatsApp and a valid business name and address.
Step 2:
- On the sidebar, click the TerraCapture dropdown menu and select WhatsApp.

- Then select “set up account” and you’ll be taken through a quick and seamless sign up process on Facebook.

Step 3:
After your WhatsApp Business Manager account has been set up, you will be redirected to the WhatsApp page on the platform where you will need to upload the data of your customers who have opted in to receive messages from you via WhatApp.

Step 4:
Also on the homepage you can see the campaign button that directs you straight to campaigns and then you can begin sending out promotional messages to your customers.
